At Ambassador Christian School, we believe every student is uniquely created by God—with purpose and potential. Our Learning Assistance Program (LAP) is designed to support students with the resources, tools, and encouragement they need to thrive academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
LAP partners with students, families, staff, and faculty to create individualized support systems tailored to each student's unique learning needs. We understand that academic success looks different for every learner, and we welcome students with diagnosed learning differences to join our program for additional academic and/or socio-emotional support.
Please note: The LAP is not a special needs program. While we are unable to provide the comprehensive wraparound services available through public schools, we do offer a robust range of accommodations and targeted academic support.
The program includes two tiers of support:
- Watch Plan ($1000/year)
- All incoming students with an IEP/504 Plan (or by recommendation) will be automatically enrolled in the Watch Plan.
- The watch plan provides:
- Recommended accommodations by credentialed counselors
- Coordination and development of 504 Plans
- Individualized academic planning and goal setting
- Academic and/or socio-emotional check-ins every 3 weeks
- Learning Assistance Program (LAP)- ($2,500/year)
- Families may opt into this enhanced support tier at any time.
- Some families will be advised to automatically enroll in this program based on student needs.
- The LAP offers more individualized academic assistance as well as:
- All resources provided through the Watch Plan
- Assistance with documentation and evaluation referrals
- Individualized academic planning and goal setting
- College Board accommodations (SAT, AP Exams)
- Coaching in self-advocacy, communication, and executive functioning
- Counseling support for anxiety, stress, and learning-related challenges
- Study skills and organizational coaching
- Ongoing academic progress monitoring and grade reviews
- Weekly canvas check-ins
- Liaison support between students, teachers, and parents
- Assigned advisement classes with counselor
*All students will be assessed each academic year by our counselors.
